Adults (18 and up) with Aspergers Expressive Therapy Group

This 6 week group will meet weekly for one hour sessions. Participants will engage in guided music and art experiences that will facilitate:

Guidance towards personal self discovery and insight

Relaxation and stress relief

Increasing self esteem and personal empowerment

Discovery of inner creativity

Integration of interpersonal skills

Experiences may include:

Mandala making

Expressive Art making

Mask making

Creative journaling

Music improvisation

Song writing Music listening and analysis

Relaxation through music listening

Singing/toning

Playing instruments

A Music Therapy group for Children (ages 2-4) with Developmental Disabilities (30 minute sessions)

This group will meet for 6 weeks once a week. Adults are welcome to attend the group with their child, or stay in the waiting room during the session. Both Julia and Emily are board-certified music therapists and have 4-6 years of experience working with children and adults with developmental disabilities.

Participants will engage in music-based games and activities that will help them develop skills in the following areas of functioning:

Sensory-motor

Communication

Socialization

Emotional Expression (Self-Esteem)

Cognitive

Music Therapy group for Children (ages 5-10) with Developmental Disabilities (60 minute sessions)

This group will meet for 6 weeks once a week. Adults are welcome to attend the group with their child, or stay in the waiting room during the session. Sessions will be lead by Julia Purcell, MT-BC and Emily Ibershoff, MT-BC. Both Julia and Emily are board-certified music therapists and have 4-6 years of experience working with children and adults with developmental disabilities.

Participants will engage in music-based games and activities that will help them develop skills in the following areas of functioning:

Sensory-motor

Communication

Socialization

Emotional Expression (Self-Esteem)
